Comment Telemak (maintenant 2 Stream) s'est impliqué dans l'un des flux en direct les plus difficiles au monde

In 2006, long before live streaming was mainstream, Telemak (now 2stream.live) was tapped to make history — with a project so ambitious, most thought it couldn’t be done. The occasion?

En 2006, bien avant que le streaming en direct ne devienne courant, Telemak (maintenant 2stream.live ) a été choisi pour entrer dans l'histoire - avec un projet si ambitieux que la plupart pensaient que cela ne pouvait pas être réalisé.

L'occasion ? Le lancement mondial du nouveau parfum de Jean Paul Gaultier, Gaultier² — un événement conçu pour mêler art, culture et technologie en temps réel, sur tous les continents.

Le concept : une collision artistique entre l'Orient et l'Occident

Réalisé par David Mileikowsky pour Milly Films , la production a réuni deux puissances artistiques :

  • Zhang Yimou , légendaire cinéaste chinois, a interprété des calligraphies et des poèmes en direct de Pékin
  • Maxim Vengerov , violoniste de renommée mondiale, s'est produit en direct à Wiesbaden, en Allemagne

Chaque site était équipé de trois caméras , diffusant des vidéos en direct dans les deux sens. Parallèlement, une équipe technique basée à Zaventem, en Belgique, s'est chargée du montage en temps réel des six flux , diffusant le résultat final en direct à 600 invités VIP du monde entier .

Le facteur chinois : un obstacle technique majeur

Diffuser un flux en direct depuis la Chine en 2006 , c'était comme marcher sur une corde raide sans filet. Il n'y avait aucun partenaire local , aucune infrastructure de production accessible et aucune garantie qu'Internet autoriserait le trafic vidéo sortant.

Trouver du matériel à Pékin était quasiment impossible. Des encodeurs aux commutateurs en passant par les convertisseurs de signaux de base, tout devait être expédié, souvent à l'aveugle, sans solution de secours sur place.

Le plus grand défi ? Obtenir un flux vidéo en direct stable et à haut débit depuis la Chine . Nous ne nous contentions pas de diffuser le signal, nous repoussions les limites.

Christophe Lenaerts : Le calme dans le chaos

Au cœur de ce numéro d'équilibriste se trouvait Christophe Lenaerts , qui dirigeait l'aspect technique de la production. Ne laissant aucune place à l'échec, Christophe a conçu et réalisé l'une des infrastructures de streaming en direct les plus complexes jamais déployées à l'époque.

Rien n'a échoué. Rien n'a chuté. Le stream a été exécuté à la perfection – une performance stupéfiante compte tenu des conditions.

Apple a pris note

Apple a été tellement impressionné par la réalisation technique et le rôle joué par sa technologie qu'elle a présenté l'intégralité de la production en vidéo à la demande sur sa page d'accueil . La vidéo a été visionnée des millions de fois par jour , devenant une étude de cas sur la manière dont le streaming en direct pouvait être utilisé pour lancer une action de marque mondiale.

De Telemak à 2stream.live

Cet événement ne se limitait pas à la question du parfum. Il s'agissait de montrer que le streaming en direct pouvait être artistique , mondial et irréprochable , même dans les conditions les plus difficiles.

Telemak a rendu cela possible. Aujourd'hui, ce même ADN pionnier anime 2stream.live , et nous continuons à placer la barre plus haut.
